This is Christmas: not the tinsel,
not the giving and receiving, not even
the carols, but the humble heart that
receives anew the wondrous gift, the Christ.

What Christmas Means to Me
By Shana Wilson (age 12)
The warmth and cozy feeling of love;
The singing carolers and beautiful turtle doves;
Children playing around the Christmas tree;
That's what Christmas means to me.
Mom and Dad kissing under the mistletoe;
Santa coming with presents tied with pretty bows;
Lights on the houses that you can see;
That's what Christmas means to me.
Stockings hanging from the fireplace;
A child with a wide smile on his face;
Shoppers hurrying down the streets;
That's what Christmas means to me.
Thinking of the night Christ was sent to give us hope and joy;
The care He gave to each girl and boy;
Knowing that, in God, you can always trust;
That's what Christmas should mean to all of us.
