I once saw this special on television that
stated for every one soldier serving, that soldier
protects 80,000 civilians. I am the defender
and protector of 80,000 civilians.

When I was just a little guy, I remember
going to Memorial Day with my grandfather,
a World War I vet, and the whole town would
turn out. He didn't talk much about being in
war, and he didn't ask for medals or recognition.
He made me realize early in life that the
liberties and freedom we enjoy are not free.

In America, November is the month we celebrate Veteran's Day....November 11 and Thanksgiving....always the last Thursday of the month. Thanksgiving is a day to stop and reflect upon all of our blessings....such as home, friends, family, health, and our country. Veteran's Day is a day to thank our military for serving our country.
This month, I have posted stories that show the humanitarian side of our military. Above the stories, is posted a quote by a member of the military that says why they are serving our country.
