Buscaglia.
August 2001 I posted the first quote of the day calendar featuring Leo Buscaglia. He was known as Dr. Hugs for his wonderful way of teaching love. That year I was reading a lot about how beautiful love is. How it is unselfish, and always giving. I fell in love with Buscaglia's books :-) He wrote as if he was having a personal conversation with each
reader, sharing a bit of himself on each page. Buscaglia would say we see love....and as time has progressed, I have seen love in others and through others and it is beautiful. A good friend, Jon, first wrote me of seeing love on the pages of my website. He described it as unconditional love. It was very encouraging when he wrote that he felt this unconditional love here among these quotes and stories. I began trying to share that love with others, always trying to show how beautiful and unselfish love is through what I posted. At some point, I became discouraged. I don't really know what happened, but looking back I would say I stopped all I was doing with my life including working on these pages....in order to grow. Maybe more precisely to be prepared to grow. I wasn't actually learning much while I wasn't working on new material, but in retrospect I see now that coming back to it I did learn much from my hiatus....I am incomplete without this part of my
life. Love is very, very beautiful :-) and also love is work!!! Nothing new has been posted here since December 2002, except one story, The Final Inspection :-) When I came back to the pages a few months ago, wondering where to begin....I was drawn once again to the beauty of Buscaglia's words. This time I saw sooo much more.....the work it takes and dedication it takes "to" love :-) In Buscaglia's words, as I posted in August 2001, we are "born to love" and we are also "learning to love" as we live. Buscaglia says "life is love and love is life." So it seemed appropriate to revive the calendar with quotes once again by Leo Buscaglia. I have posted fall pictures on the calendar in respect for Buscaglia's admiration for Autumn. He loved the "magic" of the changing leaves. I hope you enjoy each quote of the day and also the excerpts below from the pages of his
book....Living, Loving, and Learning.
